We cannot believe how fast this year has gone, but we are already looking forward to the next season. Before we move on to that, this is a good time to review what we did this year.
We began the 2018-2019 season by making a huge ‘get well/we miss you’ card for Ms. Boag-Leyrer. She was delighted to get it. Then we made rosaries with large wooden beads, gave them to Mrs. SanJuan’s Level I class.
Before the end of the year we made refrigerator magnets to be sent to our parish’s homebound in the annual distribution of poinsettias. We started the new year strong by making meals for Aid for Friends, but weather caused us to cancel our February meeting, a downed tree caused a prolonged power outage at the parish.
With the season quickly coming to a close we used our March meeting to bag up the toiletries the parish generously donated for Valley Youth House. There were 96 bags! As always, we are so grateful that the parish responds to our charitable efforts.
We closed out our 2018-2019 planned meetings with another meal for Aid for Friends but we weren’t entirely done. In May we teamed with the Baby Bottles for Life campaign, as we did last year, to distribute baby bottles that collect money for mothers in need.
It’s been a great year and we have great plans for next season. In that season we will welcome a new Level 7 to our meetings. We can’t wait!
