Our Youth in Action is keeping busy!

PicCollageIt has been a great year for Youth in Action (YIA)!

  •  The parish freezer was filled with meals for Aid for Friends twice (pasta meals in autumn and turkey dinners in spring).
  •  YIA filled 89 toiletry bags for the residents of Valley Youth House thanks to the generous donations from parishioners.
  •  Again with the generous support of members of the parish, soups were collected for the parish pantry which was YIA’S contribution to Assumption’s celebration of “Souper” Bowl Sunday.

YIA has “adopted” Valley Youth House which provides residential, educational, and support services for at-risk youth of Bucks County. As a distinctive focus every year, in the year ahead they will collect resources for them and will invite a speaker from Valley House to address our own group on issues of homelessness in our county.

The Parish weekly bulletin now has two pages of Youth News. All of our parish’s youth news, including YIA news, can be found there and they have been busy!

There are also a number of ways to digitally connect with YIA. The group can be found in the Religious Education section of our parish website, Information can also be found at the parish’s CYO website, The organization’s news also appears on the parish and CYO Facebook pages.

YIA meetings will resume in September. Meetings are every 4th Monday of the month from 6:15pm to 7:45pm. Each meeting includes prayer, scripture, a game and a project to reach out to those in need. The 2016-2017 schedule and planned projects will be available on the sites noted above and also in the parish bulletin. The group looks forward to more fun and the opportunity to do works of mercy for the parish, Valley Youth House and others in need.
