Youth in Action has a busy year planned!

Youth in ActionWelcome to fall of 2016! Youth in Action (YIA) has a great year planned and they look forward to all 7th and 8th graders joining them.

During their September 26th meeting they will have a speaker from Valley Youth House (VYH) who will explain the work they do and help members understand why their work is so important to our area. Parents are invited to this meeting too. After the speaker is finished, the group will assemble bags of toiletries for the kids at VYH.

The rest of the year will be busy with more projects to help those in need. The group will make meals for Aid for Friends and gifts for our parish shut-ins. They will collect soups for ‘Souper Bowl Sunday’ and deliver them to the parish food pantry. They will also collect school supplies for VYH and package them up to take there…these are just a few of the things for YIA, so much more is being planned!

Youth in Action’s meetings occur on the fourth Monday evening of every month. They meet at the same time as PREP, 6:15-7:45 pm. Every meeting starts with a prayer, a scripture reading, and a short discussion. Then they all participate in a fun activity, such as a game. After the game, they devote time to one of their projects as described above. The evening goes by very quickly because they are having so much fun!

Keep up with their schedule and activities by going to the parish website, www.abvmfeasterville.org, scroll down the options on the left and click on ‘Youth Programs’. They can also be found at the parish’s CYO website, www.abvm-CYO.org.

They look forward to seeing you! All 7th and 8th graders, from any school, are welcome. Come and bring your friends!
