The Statue has Arrived!

The Good Shepherd Prayer Garden construction is complete!

The construction of The Good Shepherd Prayer Garden has been completed thanks to the hard work and dedication of many talented volunteers.  The final and most important piece, the statue of the Good Shepherd, was installed on November 5th.  It was a picture-perfect Saturday morning when the 2200-pound work of art was gently moved and permanently mounted in the garden. Special thanks for a successful installation to Deacon Bob, Chris Moser, Mike Arment, Mike Connelly, Bob Brooks, John Bradley, Fred May, Rich Gathercole, Jim Brennan, Dan Orwarzani, Rich Spencer and Ray Burkett. Special thanks to Marc Connelly of MGC Landscape for donating and operating the crane used to lift the statue.

The original delivery date for the statue had to be changed as it was literally transported on a “slow boat from China” subsequently causing the postponement of the dedication.  The new date for the dedication is January 8, 2017 at 2PM when we will be joined by Bishop Timothy Senior who will preside.  There will be a hospitality reception immediately after the ceremony in the church hall.

It is not too late to contribute to the Prayer Garden.  Please make your checks payable to Assumption BVM Church and give them to Father Mike or drop them off at the rectory in an envelope marked “Good Shepard Prayer Garden”.  Thank you!
