Our Religious Education Program (PREP) began the new school year on Sunday, September 8th and Monday, September 9th. Classes are offered to students in Levels 1-7 and special sacramental classes SAC I and SAC II (on Monday evenings) Sunday morning classes begin promptly at 9:15 AM and end at 10:45 AM. Our Monday evening classes begin promptly at 6:15 PM and end at 7:45 PM. Our information gathering for parents and classroom visitations are scheduled for September 29th for our Sunday PREP parents and September 30th for our Monday PREP parents. Additional information will be sent home with our students.
Our Sacramental “KICK-OFF” night for parents will be held on Wednesday evening, November 6 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM for parents of children who will be receiving their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The meeting for parents of students receiving Confirmation will be from 7:40 to 8:40 PM. The Sacramental Welcome and Blessing will be offered at all the Masses the weekend of November 16th and 17th, for children and their parents in Levels 2, SAC I, SAC II, and Level 7. Students preparing for the reception of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation will be presented to the parish family. The students and their families will also receive a special blessing as they prepare to receive their sacraments. There will be a church social after the 11:00 Mass in the church hall on Sunday, November 17th.
There has been established a new program for all Level 7 students this year. They will become active members of Youth in Action the third Monday evening of each month in the school hall. We have a brand new series for them called “CHOSEN”, which includes short videos as part of their monthly instruction. There will be classroom instruction and assignments that must be completed at home the 4th week of each month. We are excited to engage our Level 7 students in a different style of learning in accordance with their age group. We are asking for cooperation and parental/guardian support to insure success for our Level 7 Confirmation students.
We are always thankful and grateful to all of our PREP parents/guardians for the sacrifices they make throughout the year to insure that their children continue to learn about their faith and build their relationship with God as they travel their faith journey.
