If you can read this article, thank a teacher . . . but also thank the volunteers who have donated their time and talents to plan, gather information, write stories, take pictures, proofread, edit, design, and then send it electronically to you.
Since 2013, an assortment of News from the Pews volunteers have attempted to provide current and former parishioners with a broader–and more in depth–look at our parish than can be found in the weekly bulletin. From recognizing anniversaries to Sun of Hope Orphanage updates, we try to share the spiritual and social vibrancy of our ABVM family with the hope of encouraging people to get involved.
Now we are inviting everyone—no matter what your age or background–to help News from the Pews continue this mission. We are always in need of “staff” to help us create this newsletter four times annually. No experience is required! If you can write, proofread, take photos, or have technology skills, we can use your talents.
Don’t have the time to make an ongoing commitment? You still can help. Our photographers can’t attend every parish event, so if your organization has pictures from a special activity, please send them to us. Also, leaders of organizations (or their designees) are welcome to submit an article of no more than 300 words, one month prior to the month of publication.
To volunteer or to get additional information, especially about submission guidelines and deadlines, contact editor Lisa Shire at firstname.lastname@example.org or one of the volunteers listed at the end of the end of this newsletter.
