Janet and Tom King
Janet and Tom King feel blessed that their love for one another and commitment to marriage has allowed them to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. They were married at St. Martin of Tours Church in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia on May 11, 1963, while Tom was in the US Army stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. They spent their first year together in Clarksville, Tennessee until Tom was discharged in June 1964. They have been members of Assumption BVM since 1970.
They have 4 wonderful children: twin girls Donna and Debbie and boys Tommy and Danny. They are also blessed with 8 grandchildren, 5 boys and 3 girls and 2 great grandchildren, twin boys. After a five year battle fighting Pancreatic Cancer, their son Tommy went to the Lord on November 12, 2014. He will be forever missed.
Janet and Tom are very family oriented. Their traditions include having family, friends and relatives over for Easter Scavenger Hunts, Thanksgiving gatherings and Christmas Eve dinners. They have enjoyed for over 25 years, camping with family at Promised Land State Park in the Poconos. In addition, for the last twelve years, they enjoy inviting their young grandchildren, nieces and nephews over for a sleepover on a Friday close to Valentine’s Day, to give their parents a night out without their children.
Happy Anniversary Janet and Tom!
