Forty Hours Welcomes Back Bishop Senior

Assumption’s annual Forty Hours Devotion was held October 9th, 10th, and 11th.  Although Bishop Timothy Senior was considered the “guest” homilist, he will always be considered a member of the Assumption BVM family to many who attended. Thirty years ago, our parish was “Father Tim’s” first assignment after ordination.

Forty Hours provided an extended opportunity for adoration, penance, prayer, and reflection. Bishop Senior spoke each night on the theme of “God’s Abundant Mercy.” He not only shared examples of God’s mercy to us, but challenged us all to be a welcoming community and, as God’s hands on earth, to be merciful to others.

Fellowship was held in the church hall following Tuesday’s concluding service.
