Evan Capinas started scouts when he was in first grade as a Tiger Scout and he worked his way up to earning the Eagle Scout rank. For his Eagle Scout project, Evan worked with Fr. Mike to make some improvements around the parish grounds. Evan recently painted the outside walls and doors to Assumption BVM’s parish hall. In addition, he cleaned up the church signs around the church and planted flowers to make the signs more presentable. Members and adults of Assumption’s Boy Scout Troop 153, past and present, also helped Evan with his project, which took 160 hours from start to finish. Through his efforts, Evan learned to manage a large scale project, coordinate with others younger and older, and be able to finish his difficult project on time. Evan was pleased with the result of his project as well as the lessons he learned with problem solving and reaching goals. Evan is currently a student at Penn State University.
