The members of Assumption celebrated Deacon Bob Stewart’s thirtieth anniversary of ordination and his tenth anniversary of service to our parish with Mass and hospitality on June 12th.
Deacon Bob’s journey toward ordination started after he graduated from high school when felt a call “to do something for the Church.” His first step was to become a CCD teacher. After a number of years helping children grow in their faith, becoming a Deacon seemed like a natural choice. He was ordained with twenty-one other men on May 25, 1986.
Assigned to ABVM by Cardinal Rigali in 2006, Deacon Bob is “grateful to the people of the parish for their warm reception.” He is also grateful for the love and support he has gotten from his children and wife Linda, who, after he was ordained, followed him at St. Charles where she earned her Master’s degree and became the Director of Religious Education at St. Ignatius parish in Yardley.
We at ABVM are grateful to Deacon Bob for sharing his time and talents with us and look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries with him.
