Assumption has a new Eagle Scout!

Ethan started out his scouting adventure when he was 6 years old as a Tiger Cub with Pack 153. With the help of his Den Leader (aka his Mom) he rose through each rank with ease. Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I and Webelos II then crossing over to Boy Scouts in 5th grade to join Troop 153. Ethan has had a lot of adventures throughout the years including 87 nights of camping, 54 miles of hiking and 71 hours of community service. The scouting program is a great place to experience things that you may not otherwise do, like sleeping in museums and aquariums or going to lots of sporting events and going to the fields. Through scouting Ethan learned how to be a leader. He was part of the National Youth Leadership Training staff. He would spend weekends in the Spring and Fall teaching fellow scouts how to be a good leader. Ethan’s time in scouting seems like it flew by like everything else, but the experiences and memories will last him a lifetime.

Ethan’s Eagle Project

Ethan’s project is benefitting hikers, runners and bikers in Washington Crossing National State Park. He built bridges that now allow people and animals to cross a very wet and muddy section of the nature trails with ease. He had to measure the area, fund-raise for money and supplies, cut wood and put the cut pieces together to create foot bridges. They turned out great and many people have reached out to say how helpful the bridges have been. Ethan had a lot of help from Troop 153 and family members.
