Exciting times for the Sun of Hope Orphanage. When an Assumption parishioner found out that the orphanage was doing all their wash by hand, she thought to herself how difficult it must have been for the Sisters who worked there. Can you imagine washing thirty three sets of sheets…by hand? She stepped into action and offered to buy the orphanage a new washer and dryer.
The Sisters picked out the new machines and they were delivered in July. According to Sr. Catherine, the Sisters at the orphanage, Sisters Teresa, Martha and Calleta, were very happy to have received the washer and dryer. They said, “Now we have more time with the children. Time to play with them, clean and garden.” In addition, they added, “Even some time to sit and watch movies with them. It is a big relief for us.” The Sisters want to send a special “thank you” to not only the parishioner (who wishes to remain anonymous) who bought the washer and dryer, but to all parishioners, for making a difference in their orphanage!
